Hasan,

If you look at history and the bible, you will find there was no such thing as the middle east. You will also realize that black explored all the earth way before slavery!!! Case in point ; the Negritos in the Philippines are the indigenous people according to that country's history. They are definitely black and are thousand and thousand of miles from Africa...same fore blacks in Australia and Melanesia!!! So man give me a break and learn real history. Lastly, look at Egypt (Kemet). It all looks like Arabs were always there but they were invaders that changed the racial mix. Just like Europeans changed the racial mix of America. Everyone forgets that America Indian is the only true America! But thousands of years from now all the people will see are images of mostly whites , blacks but few to none of Indians and assume this was an origin white country!!! So apply this logic to all of north africa and what you call the "middle east" which were originally black african!!

- Dwayne

As long people do not accept that Ancient Egypt extended from Sudan to the Euphrat River in Asia this kind of confusion will exist. And the inhabitants of the mediteranean area was racially homogenous until around 2000 BC when the first caucasians dared to get out of their caverns and settle more southward.

Thanks for the heads up about Pendragon! I just finished the "trilogy" and was completely underwhelmed and if Pendragon is the most difficult to get through, I will avoid it. Not to say that the books were not well-written, or that the respective legends of Atlantis and Arthur were not effectively (and compellingly) blended, I simply had a hard time with the movement of the story itself.

- Fantasy Lover

This is the third book I have "read" by Frank Delaney. This time I decided to listen to Frank read the story (Audio Books) and it could not have been better. What a voice! It was like being back in Ireland listening to a great scéalaí. It is a must read for anyone that likes a great story or has an interest in Irish history. As usual, he has come up with a surprise ending.

- Bob

Comment on "The Loss of Imagination"

Loss of imagination?

There is no such thing. It is an innate part of humanity. Everyone has the ability to imagine - it's pretty much all we ever do. Computer games, the internet and realistic toys certainly do not stifle the imagination of children, this view is founded on no evidence whatsoever. I would even go so far as to say that they excite the imagination by broadening the scope of children's experience. Reading a book is no 'better' for the imagination than playing a computer game. It should be noted that some children have more active imaginations than others, and they will continue to pursue this all the time. We do not lose our imagination when we get older, it just transforms into a more mature imagination.

- Pob

Well miss have you attempted to introduce the to a medium they might be familiar with? Shoving and forcing subjects and formats down people's throats is no way to learn and it usually fails. Besides, you're missing the#1 most important rule if art: ART COMES FROM THE INSPIRATION THAT FLOWS FROM THE HEART.

- helldiver450

Well, believe it or not...imagination is going better than ever for kids. IF you look at 4chan.org or. Funnyjunk.com, or even youtube, kids are using modern technology to bring their imaginations to life.
If you look ul "Gmod" kn youtube, you will see billions of countless video creations. Now that people are pirating professional video editing software, now kids are making their own films. Look up "stop motion" and you will find kids making advanced creations such as short stop animation with their very own toys.
am the oldest brother of the three, and have witnessed my younger brother do some of the most amazing things on the computer. So rather than blaming television and videogames for your parental failures, try understanding with your own imagination that humans are evolving with each generation.Books hold great text, but absorbing information from them takes time, and is often nkt thorough.Pictures are worth a thousand words. And VIDEO is a billion pictures.

I myself have been self-tauught in the field of animation, and have practiced animation since I was twelve. I am 19 now, and have created over 50 comical shortfilms.

So don't turn off that tv, leave the games on.Games stimulate the mind to think faster and strategize to beat the game.Tv provides material for the mind to play with.

LET THEM BE AND BE AMAZED.

- helldiver450
