Germany 2008
I'm back from Germany! It was a great trip and everyone had a lot of fun.
Please enjoy these pictures from my trip last week to Germany. We saw lots of sites, including Munich, Rothenburg ob de Tauber, Neuschwanstein, Bacharach, The Rhine Valley Region, Trier, and Burg Eltz.

Looks like you had a great time! I was in Germany a couple of years ago and your photos are making me incredibly jealous/nostalgic.

Those were wonderful. I'd love to do an European tour. Maybe in a few years. It must be great seeing all that history. Although I live near St. Augustine, one of the oldest cities in the US, its age is nothing compared to the age of some of those castles.
Posted by: Tia on March 29, 2008 05:15 PMWe did have a great time. It was cold and snowy, but he novelty of it made it all the more fun.
Tia- I've been to St. Augustine and you are fortunate to live so close to what to US citizens is an ancient city.
Yet in Germany, 400 years old is just a baby!
We went to one castle that is still lived in by the founding family (Burg Eltz) and their castle has been around for nearly 1500 years! Its hard to even conceive of such an age.

All those castles and cathedrals... *swoon*
Posted by: Sara J. on March 30, 2008 02:53 PMThanks for sharing! My wife was actually just on a business trip to Germany, but didn't have nearly as much fun. In fact, she said if we ever get to vacation in Europe, Germany would not be one of the places we visit :D
Posted by: Robert on March 31, 2008 02:38 PMRobert - She must not have seen the good parts. There are so many medieval castles and cathedrals you would be sure to enjoy it, especially as a fantasy fan.
Don't rule it out, and if you ever go, I know some great places to visit!
