Pandora Radio
If you haven't checked out Pandora Radio yet, you just gotta. It uses the music genome project to make sure that you only listen to music you like. Type in an artist or song and a radio station of that type of music will be created. Create several stations for different types of music. Kinda like the Netflix rating system, only better, you end up with music you'll enjoy listening to, determined by your preferences, not some radio DJ who is too attached to the top 40 pop standards.
A friend told me about it over the weekend, and it is great. Now I don't have to bring music to work, or rip CD's onto a work computer (which I shouldn't do), I can just enjoy good music all the live long day!
Best part of all, it is free!

Pandora rocks my face off. Its great when I don't know what I want to listen to. I've added 6 stations that can pretty much capture any mood I'm in. Although I've discovered I can be quite moody.
So far the radio stations I have are:
Justin Timberlake
Elvis Presley
Rascal Flatts
Bebo Norman
Josh Groban
Southern Gospel/Bill Gaither
I won't comment on your music choices (Justin Timberlake?). Ok I just did, but mine stations so far are:
Blackmore's Night
Dave Matthews Band
Michael Buble
and I just started today!
Posted by: John on August 8, 2007 04:01 PMI need to specialize more. I just created one station called Mostly Indie--Don't Panic! and threw about 17 different bands/artists in there, ranging from Mos Def to Snow Patrol. I just created a new station for Chocolate Genius, which so far is playing me soft and slow acoustic guitar stuff with mellow vocals.
Posted by: funke on August 8, 2007 04:13 PMI absolutely love Pandora Radio. It is the best music service available! I only need one channel at the moment and that is for Muse!

Posted by: Carrie on August 9, 2007 09:18 AMCarrie - Me too. I freely admit to having once liked boy bands, and still having several less than masculine musicians in my collection. (I will NOt specify!) :-)
Posted by: John on August 9, 2007 09:47 AMIts ok to admit . . . I can see you like Jordan Knight. :)
Posted by: Carrie on August 9, 2007 10:08 AMWho? Never heard of him. Really, no joke.
Posted by: John on August 9, 2007 10:10 AMHe was the "pretty boy" of New Kids on the Block.
Posted by: Carrie on August 9, 2007 10:12 AMI have always been culturally stunted. I should have known that. (Or maybe not.)
