Pray to be Shot
Is a Christian paintball park taking "in the world but not of" a little too far? Can we worship while being shot for fun?
Those who support the idea say,
“I’ve looked in the Bible, and can’t find anything wrong with paintball,” reasons Andy Leong, a 48-year-old Chicago marketing executive who’s come to celebrate the birthday of his 13-year-old son, Luke. “In fact, the Bible is filled with combat as a topic.”. . . .
“There’s an impression that Christians are wimps — that they’re just no fun,” says Promised Land owner Rick Pinter.
“Christians can be tough and heroic.”
There is also a discussion over at mental_floss and Neatorama.

This is another example of what I loathe about the Christian sub-culture. We have to slap Christian on everything in order to redeem it. We as Christians are to redeem the culture, not marginalize and ghettoize it. Ugh!!!

I don't see anything wrong with particpating in paintball or airsoft games, but I do have a problem with trying to "Christianize" it to make it more palatable. The behaviors that differentiate this park are behaviors every Christian should enage in anyway. And the ichthyus on the balls? That's like Jesus dolls that spout Scripture. Unnecessary and even a little sacrilegious.
